Before You Go to Luxembourg
We have compiled a list of life-saving tips and preparations that should be known before the Luxembourg Trip, a Central European country and even today managed by the Duchy.

Before going to Luxembourg, the most curious topic on Google is “Is Luxembourg City or Country?” There was a question. Therefore, I wanted to start my Luxembourg article by answering this question. Luxembourg is the name of both the country and the city. If you ask the capital city of Luxembourg, which is the smallest country in Europe in terms of surface area, the name of the capital of Luxembourg is Luxembourg. The official name of the state is the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Where is Luxembourg?
Located in Central Europe, the State of Luxembourg is one of the rare European countries that have no coast, surrounded by Germany, France and Belgium. So how to get from Turkey to Luxembourg?
Transportation to Luxembourg by Plane
THY aircraft, mainly from Turkey with KLM and Lufthansa as the airline owned aircraft can be reached in Luxembourg is a direct way. With Turkish Airlines flight TK 1353, there are only 1 flights every day from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Luxembourg Airport (LUX). During the holiday seasons, you can buy an affordable Luxembourg flight ticket between 1,500₺ – 2,000₺ per person.
It is possible to go to Luxembourg from Izmir or Ankara by making only 1 transfer in Istanbul. In order to buy THY‘s Izmir – Luxembourg flight tickets, an average payment is required between 2.000₺ and 2.500₺. On the other hand, for the Ankara – Luxembourg flight ticket, you will have to pay around 2,500₺ with a connecting flight from Istanbul.

Luxembourg Visa (Schengen)
Living in Turkey (Bordeaux) Luxembourg with a passport or a short-term Schengen visa you need to purchase for your visit tourist purposes. Green Passport, Gray Passport and Diplomatic Passport holders can reside for up to 90 days without being subject to any visa during their touristic visit to Luxembourg. You must apply for a Schengen Visa from the Luxembourg Embassy before traveling to Luxembourg for tourism purposes with your Public Passport.
If another Schengen member country has a valid visa, you can go to Luxembourg by transit. You cannot fly directly and will most likely be sent back at the airport. For example, you have a valid Schengen visa issued by the French or German authorities. In this case, you should land at the airport of the country that issued you the Schengen Visa, for example Paris or Cologne Airport, and you can go to Luxembourg or another Schengen member country there.
I would like to mention an important detail about Luxembourg here. The Schengen Visa Agreement between European States was signed in the Remich-Schengen region, which is within the borders of the State of Luxembourg, on the Moselle river, which also determines the borders with Germany.

Weather in Luxembourg
Before going to Luxembourg, it is a good idea to check the weekly weather forecast. In general, temperatures in summer are 23-29 degrees during the day and 12-17 degrees at night. In the morning it is partly cloudy or rainy at short intervals, while in the afternoon the weather is usually clear and sunny. When going to Luxembourg, it is useful to choose your clothes accordingly. We recommend that you have a thin raincoat and an umbrella with you.

Before going to Luxembourg, you should definitely check the weekly – 10-day and 15-day weather reports.
When we got to Luxembourg city center at about 11:00 in the morning, there was light rain. A little disappointed, but an hour later the sun showed its face, bringing the magnificent medieval gothic architecture of Luxembourg to the surface.
How Many Days To Visit Luxembourg?
Since the city of Luxembourg is the capital of the smallest country of the European continent, it can be visited even in 1 day. So we had the opportunity to travel during the Benelux European Tour. However, we recommend you to spend at least 2 days for Luxembourg and visit the Remich-Schengen. In our next article, we will give a wide coverage of the places you need to visit in Luxembourg.
Life in Luxembourg
We talked about places to visit in Luxembourg, perhaps the smallest country in the European continent. So how does it feel to live in Luxembourg. What are the living conditions and working conditions. In this part of our article, let’s include some curious questions.
The population and especially the working indigenous population are very low in Luxembourg. As far as I know, it does not exist in a heavy industry or a worldwide manufacturing industry. If asked where Luxembourg is today, most of us will not even find its place on the map. The livelihood of Luxembourg is provided by Banks and Finance Companies. It provides loans to private companies and even public institutions around the world.
Consequently, since they earn their biggest income from money, their added value is also at this rate. As a result, almost zero tax rates emerge. While providing prosperity to its own population, it also provides neighboring countries with the opportunity to work and cheap shopping.
The low population of the country leads to a low labor force and consequently the need for foreign labor. For the day, mostly French come here to work by road and rail from France.
Finally, “How to do business in Luxembourg?” If you want to trade, its terms are so flexible. Let’s say you started a simple company. If your annual turnover is 25.000 €, it means you are ready on your Luxembourg Residence Permit. Believe me, you can reach this number in 1-2 months.
